Re: How to remove a *.vmem and a *.vmsn file after shutdown?

With an existing .vmsn file it actually looks like the VM has an active snapshot. Do you see snapshot .vmdk files with "...-00000x.vmdk" in their names?

To find out the easiest way to get rid of the snapshot is to find out how it was created!? If you have VMware Player installed as a part VMware Workstation, you can use VMware Workstation (with VMware Player closed) and delete the snapshot from the Snapshot Manager. If this is not the case, you could consolidate the virtual disk (i.e. clone the virtual disk including the snapshot data) using the vmware-vdiskmanager command line utility. Unless you already have this utility, you can download it from the Attachments in http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1023888. If you need assistence, please post a complete list of files (e.g. dir *.* /oen for DOS or ls -lisa for Linux) and attach the VM's .vmx file to a reply post.
