And 'yes' the virtual CD is 'connected' when I have the BOOT menu. BTW, is there an easier way to get to the virtual BIOS or BOOT menu? The window of opportunity is very very short.

With VMware Player closed, addbios.bootDelay = "5000"to the VM's .vmx file. This will delay the boot for 5 seconds and give you enough time to hit the ESC key. André
