You don't necessarily need to do anything else, but you could upgrade the hardware version (i.e. the virtual machine compatibility) from 7 (default for WS 6.5) to 10 (latest HW version) to benefit from...

Can you right click it where it says offline and try selecting online? And then initialize the disk. Then you will be able to format it. If this doesn't work you can remove and add it again.
