Hi all
I created a virtual machine on one PC (PC 1), and then copied this image to a different PC (PC 2), and opened/ran it using VMWare Player (4.0.1 build-528992).
However when I run the virtual machine on PC 2, and check the hardware, it still has all the hardware associated with PC 1, not PC 2.
I noticed this problem because I was trying to use the Local Area Network. The host PC (PC 2) has a Broadcom NetXtreme network adapter, but in the virtual machine there are three network adaptors listed, none of which is the one I need. I tried "removing" these, and adding a new network adaptor, but when I did this, the "new" network adaptor seems to be one of the old ones: AMD PCNET Family PCI Ethernet Adapter.
So, question:
Can anyone tell me is it possible (and how) to get the virtual machine to recognise the host's hardware, and get the actual Broadcom NetXtreme adapter working?
Thanks in advance
