Because using sysprep is the proper way to replicate Windows images! 
And it will change the "Transport Name" shown by the getmac command.
Although I do not beleive that is at the root of your issue since I just duplicated a VM, said I copied it, didn't change anything else and was able with both running to connect to Host Shares at the same time without issues.
