WMWare Player 6.01, attempting to run a VM of Vista Home Premium, created using VMWare vCenter Converter Standalone 5.5.0.
VMWare Tools was succefully installed in this VM. I was able to launch this VM on both a Windows 8 computer as well as on a Macintosh using VMWare Fusion 6. The latter was for testing only.
In both instances, the guest OS was attempting to install driver tools for the Ethernet controller. In both, I had the network configuration set to share the host network.
What does one have to do to get the guest OS in this instance to connect to the internet? Without it, there's no point using.
