Sorry - I meant I couldn't download the VMware Player bundle. I finally got a download of the bundle for 64-bit Linux by using Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1. I haven't tried Fedora 19 hosting, but I did get it to install with only a few non-fatal Gtk complaints on Fedora 20 beta. I've also successfully installed VMware Tools inside a Fedora 20 guest.

By the way, according to the release notes, "Support for Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Enterprise, Windows Server 2012 R2, Ubuntu 13.10 and the latest Fedora, CentOS, Red Hat and OpenSUSE releases." (http://www.vmware.com/support/player60/doc/player-60-release-notes.html). So the original poster's problem seems more likely something else. Fedora 20's in pretty good shape overall - I've been running it on one of my laptops since the alpha came out and have only run into two obscure bugs that wouldn't affect normal users.
