How do I run VMWare player with a debug kernel?

Hello,

     I need to run a debug kernel (3.8.9-200.fc18.x86_64.debug) for a while but would also like to run my VM's on the same box. However when I start the player I get the following message:

The headers are the same as my regular kernel (3.8.9-200.fc18.x86_64), so I assume I can jsut create a symlink somewhere. Can anybody help?
