Hello
Every time you install a new kernel (manual or update) on any linux, you need to run the vmtools configuration utility (/tmp/vmware-tools/vmware-tools-config.pl in my centos) for that new kernel (you must boot from it)
I find nothing in the logs of why hgfs failure or problems you have with the clipboard and drag & drop operations
I can only find this:

Try this:
Update your VM
reboot and boot fron your new kernel
run vmware config tool
reboot (maybe can't be necesary)
